The BAGGU Mission
Our mission at BAGGU is to make high quality, long lasting goods, so you can own less stuff.
Nylon is an infinitely recyclable material. BAGGU runs a nylon recycling program—we will take your used bags in return for a discount on a new order.
In our recycled cotton canvas line, all of our cotton is made from pre-consumer, recycled cotton; cotton scraps recovered during the creation of other cotton products like t-shirts and socks that would otherwise have gone to a landfill. It is even more environmentally responsible than organic cotton.
Our natural milled leather is produced domestically in an ISO-14001 Certified Tannery which is an International Standard established to distinguish tanneries that document and manage their operations to minimize the impact on the environment.
Our Constrauction Methods
BAGGU products are constructed to minimize material waste and ensure high quality. BAGGU nylon bags are made to carry your stuff for years. They are made from a super strong material with double stitched seams—each bag can hold up to 50 lbs. This means no ripped seams and a bag that lasts longer. Our nylon bags are also designed to minimize material waste. They are assembled from one continuous piece of material, with the cut out portion used to construct its carrying pouch. We use environmentally responsible dyes and production—the dye we selected for our bags is fully absorbed by the material, which minimizes run off. Because nylon is extremely lightweight, it saves fuel when shipping and thus, lessens its carbon footprint. If our nylon bags do end up in the landfill, they take up a fraction of the size of a large cotton or poly-propylene equivalent. In our leather line, we save leather by assembling the bags from two pieces of material, using the cut out portion used for leather zip pouches.
Where BAGGUS are made
Nylon and Canvas BAGGUs are ethically made in China. What does “ethically made” mean? Our factories in China are audited yearly by an independent third party for occupational health and safety. These audits help ensure that humane work hours and wages are enforced, and that the facilities are safe. We also work with factories that minimize the impact of our production on the environment. Our nylon is produced in an ISO 14001 certified factory.
Our leather line is cut and sewn in the U.S.A., we have factories in Texas and in the garment district of New York City. Our leather is produced in an ISO 14001 certified tannery. For more information please firstname.lastname@example.org
